Attendance Confirmed
Roger S. Baum is the eldest living great-grandson of the man who started it all, L. Frank Baum. “The Wizard of Oz” series of books were created by the hard-working family man in Chicago more than 100 years ago. His four sons and scores of neighborhood children so loved his story telling that his wife,
Maude, thought it would be a good idea for him to write down his ‘made up’ stories and she was right! Since “The Wizard of Oz” was published in 1900, it, and every Oz book that followed, have been huge successes and loved by children of all ages!
Roger has taken pen in hand, also gently urged to do so by his wife, Charlene, and continued the trip over the rainbow with a series of successful children’s books about the Land of Oz. Both Roger and Charlene will be participating in the 2009 Chesterton Wizard of Oz Festival and look forward to sharing the love of Oz through both the literary works of great-grandfather and great-grandson.
