CHESTERTON’S WIZARD OF OZ PARADE LOOKING FOR ENTRIES COME JOIN THE FUN! Everyone loves a parade! Come join the excitement of the Wizard of Oz Parade, "Horse of a Different Color" as it winds along the tree-lined streets of downtown Chesterton. Dress as your favorite character and wave to the crowds or design a float that is amazing. Be creative and have fun. Awards will be presented in many different categories. The parade is September 18 at 10am in downtown Chesterton. So, get your group together and join the fun. Walking groups, floats, businesses, and bands are all welcome.   Register today for the 1st Annual Chesterton Wizard of Oz Festival Golf Outing. It is August 28, 2010 at Brassie Golf Course. Check in begins at noon with a shot gun start at 1pm. There is a limited number of spots still available and pre-registration is required. The cost is $50 per person and includes 18 holes of golf and a lunch of hot dog, chips, and a beverage. There will be special event holes - such as closest to the pin or longest drive. Don't play golf - there are sponsorship opportunities!! June 3, 2010 2010 Wizard of Oz Festival Mark your calendars now for Septemner 17, 18, and 19th-Chesterton, IN will be the place to be for the 2010 Wizard of Oz Festival. After the triumphant return home in 2009, Duneland Business Initiviative Group (the sphonsoring organization) and it's volunteers are hard at work to make the festival even better. There will be plenty of events and fun for fans of all ages! There will be autograph sessions, the parade, food, vendors, contests, entertainment, and so much more! Bonus fun before the festival: August 28th will be the first annual Wizard of Oz Golf outing at Brassie Golf Course and August 29th will be a special Wizard of Oz event at Coffe Creek Park - watch for upcoming details.
